Stay Cool or Warm
Our Merino Travel Blanket or Knee Rug have top quality thermal regulation, keeping your body temperature constant whatever the ambient (room) temperature. So you're cool in summer, warm in winter. Merino sheep evolved in Spain, where they needed to be insulated against the heat of the day, yet kept warm in the chill of the night. So nature created the ideal temperature control: wool.
Pure Wool
Because pure wool is a natural fibre it breathes, and can absorb up to 50% of its own weight in moisture, drawing it away from your body. Pure wool is the perfect insulation material, creating a microclimate of regulated humidity and temperature, leading to a high degree of what's known as thermophysical comfort. So our Merino Travel Blanket & Knee Rug will keep you snug wherever you take them.
Anti allergenic
Wool has also been shown to be anti allergenic, inhibit dust mites, and reduce skin irritation problems and pressure sores. It has natural fire retardant properties, and doesn't need washing: just shake & air thoroughly once a month, and brush off surface dirt with a damp cloth. The unique structure of wool fibres means they are dirt resistant: no static means they don't attract dust and fluff, and because each wool fibre is naturally crimped, it prevents dirt and moisture penetrating into the fabric.
Washing
Our Merino Travel Blanket & Knee Rug can occasionally be cool hand-washed if necessary (no wringing, you'll be glad to hear) or dry cleaned.
Welcome Back to Wool
Firemen wear wool uniforms because of the insulation and non-melt properties. Wool is now being used for high performance sportswear due to its excellent wicking qualities: drawing moisture away from the skin to cool you down. German hospitals have used wool blankets for years because of their temperature regulating abilities that ease the aches and pains of rheumatism and arthritis.
Wool is also extremely environmentally friendly: it's biodegradable, recyclable, and from a renewable source. Keep a sheep in work: welcome back to wool!
