How it Works
The Bowel Cancer Home Screening Kit is a one step immunochromatographic assay for the detection of faecal occult blood. That means it detects even tiny traces of hidden blood in your faeces. Faecal blood can be a symptom of various gastrointestinal disorders such as ulcers, polyps, colitis, diverticulitis, fissures, haemorrhoids, use of aspirin or NSAID painkillers and bowel cancer. So if you get a positive result it could mean any of these, and not necessarily bowel cancer.
