Bowel cancer home screening kit

Bowel cancer home screening kit

  •  Home test ensures privacy & discretion
  • Quick and convenient
  • Results in 10 minutes or less

Bowel cancer (also called colon or colorectal cancer) is second only to lung cancer as the UK's biggest cancer killer. This year, around 35,500 people will be diagnosed with bowel cancer, and up to half of them will die. But it doesn't have to be that way: bowel cancer is one of the most curable cancers if caught early enough.

Get Yours Now
In April 2006 the NHS is starting its new bowel cancer home screening programme for people aged 60-69. But why wait till you're 60? And even if you already are, will you be in the right part of the country? The programme will only be national in 2009. Do your own home test and stay in control of your health.

Straightforward
Our Bowel Cancer Home Screening Kit is straightforward to use and gives the result in less than 10 minutes. The kit includes everything you need: a paper strip for faecal collection, a sample collection & preparation device, a tester, and instructions. You can do the test privately and discreetly in your own home.

How it Works
The Bowel Cancer Home Screening Kit  is a one step immunochromatographic assay for the detection of faecal occult blood. That means it detects even tiny traces of hidden blood in your faeces. Faecal blood can be a symptom of various gastrointestinal disorders such as ulcers, polyps, colitis, diverticulitis, fissures, haemorrhoids, use of aspirin or NSAID painkillers and bowel cancer. So if you get a positive result it could mean any of these, and not necessarily bowel cancer. See your doctor and arrange for further tests - don't be shy: "If we, as a nation, were less embarrassed to talk bottoms, fewer people would die of bowel cancer." From the charity Beating Bowel Cancer.

Our Bowel Cancer Home Screening Kit is more sensitive and specific than the older guaic tests. There are no dietary restrictions, and only one test is needed.
